Resource Centers
The majority of Beckman Institute activities are organized into Resource Centers, each of which has a tripartite mission within its particular area of research focus:
- to carry out cutting-edge research
- to advance research capabilities by means of the invention and development of new methods, instrumentation and materials
- to establish, maintain and operate a user-friendly facility relevant and available to a broad cross-section of the research community, particularly at Caltech.
At present there are ten Resource Centers, listed below. By following any of those links, you will find a brief description of the Center, names and contact information for key people, and a further link to the Center's own website which provides much more detailed information.
The Beckman Institute considers establishment of new Resource Centers every two years. The next due date for proposals will be March 15, 2027. For reference, the previous cycle's guidelines for proposal submission may be found by clicking the box below; these will be updated in Fall 2026 for the 2027 application cycle.
