Caltech Bioinformatics Resource Center

Fan Gao – Director
Lior Pachter –
Faculty Advisor

The Caltech Bioinformatics Resource Center (CBRC) develops bioinformatics workflows, facilitates data analysis of biological data, benchmarks methods, provides bioinformatics/statistics consulting, and teaches via training sessions and workshops. The Resource Center supports projects involving both technology development and biological discovery. Current emphasis of this center is bioinformatics for genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics.

This facility utilizes on-campus computational resources, including the Caltech High Performance Computing Cluster and an on-site high memory server. These resources are used for the development and assessment of new tools, as well as for high-throughput processing of data. One-on-one bioinformatics and statistics consulting is available, and weekly office hours provide a convenient forum for initial consultations. Caltech laboratories seeking bioinformatics support should contact the Center Director. Bioinformatics and statistics lectures and workshops are under constant development by center staff, and are periodically offered to the Caltech community.
